Online Exclusive Master Class: ECO-DIVERSITY

Reimagining and Reinventing Diversity & Inclusion | Building The Future of Work Sustainability With Eco-Diversity | How to Cultivate a Growth Mindset to Support Eco-Diversity

Traditional diversity & inclusion activities are mainly focused on racial justice and cozy equality and diversity initiatives. Due to this, organizations do not enjoy the full financial benefits of eco-diversitydiversity & inclusion, causing massive economic damage to corporations. They lack an authentic, holistic, measurable, and thus sustainable approach. This sustainable approach is “Eco-Diversity“.

“There’s such a need to move the traditional Diversity & Inclusion focus on cozy diversity initiatives and bureaucratical policies, and instead focus on fostering a sustainable culture of eco-diversity in which eco-innovation, creativity, personal integrity, empathy, employee engagement, and a truly authentic sense of belonging & inclusion are embedded; by doing so love, happiness, and productivity at the workplace will increase. It is time for HR managers and D&I executives and professionals to understand that happy, ethical, empathic, and smart employees make happy customers”.— Hubert Rampersad.

This exclusive online master class is related to Dr. Hubert Rampersad’s article “Fostering Eco-Innovation Through a Sustainable Culture of Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equality.”. Most large-scale diversity, inclusion, and belonging projects have failed because they are cosmetical and unsustainable, resulting in enormous financial waste and many missed opportunities. We need a more sustainable approach and a new way of thinking to create a sustainable culture of eco-diversity in a better world, as described in Rampersad’s article “How to Design a Better World.”

Eco-Diversity Matters

The Boston Consulting Group and the Technical University of Munich conducted a survey of diversity managers, HR executives, and managing directors at 171 companies across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland:

  • The study found higher levels of diversity in management positions contribute to increased innovation revenue (income generated from new products and services).
  • The research also revealed that companies that establish favorable work conditions for employees have higher margins (17%) than those who do not.

Market share increases were reported by 48% of US companies with more senior-level management diversity. In comparison, only 33% of companies with less diverse management saw similar market share trends, according to a Center for Talent Innovation study.

These results can be much higher if the approach is authentic, holistic, organic, measurable, and thus sustainable.

Eco-Diversity

This new sustainable and holistic approach to diversity, inclusion, and belonging is called eco-diversity. Eco-diversity is urgently needed because the new normal requires sustainable organizational cultures in which differences and similarities between people are valuable. There is synergy between different types of people, talents, and skills, and a sense of belonging among these people. Cultures where people can develop their abilities and feel involved, accepted, respected, and connected. Diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equality initiatives fail because they are not authentic, holistic, and measurable and are not sustainable!

Eco-Diversity Life Cycle Scan

Traditional diversity initiatives also miss key elements like authentic empathic leadership, personal integrity, and eco-.ECO-SPIDERInnovation and eco-governance. Sustainable eco-diversity requires measurement of the current situation of diversity, inclusion, and equality in the organization. Without measure, you will not be able to manage variety effectively. That is why we also introduce a unique Eco-diversity life cycle scan. This new tool is an assessment system to measure the degree of diversity, inclusion, and belonging in an organization integrally and systematically. This system intends to know where you currently stand regarding diversity, inclusion, and belonging and how to create an eco-diversity culture based on this. We refer to Dr. Rampersad’s articles “Eco-Innovation” and “Eco-Design Thinking.”
